Do You Have Any Idea What the Real King Looks Like: Tennis Fans Left FumingAfter Roger Federe

Publish date: 2024-06-21

The much anticipated Miami Grand Prix didn’t really deliver. Billed as a blockbuster street circuit race on US soil, the action on the track fell pale. That being said, at the end of the day, a two-way title fight between Red Bull teammates, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez has had the potential to make any race a classic affair. Alas, even this herculean pairing couldn’t add the sparks this race needed.

The race has been such a dull affair that the broadcasting team tried to spice things up! In the dying embers of the Grand Prix at the Miami International Autodrome, the camera cut to a trackside spectator. In reality, it was actor James Marden. However, the TV graphics popped up with the name of 20x Grand Slam Winner, Roger Federer.

This was sure to wake a few half-asleep fans up! With Verstappen slowly killing the lead Perez had built, the fans were ready for the usual Dutch lion victory lap at the end of the 57 laps. However, the TV broadcast team was sure to mix a few things up.

One fan commented, “@F1 #MiamiGP seriously???? What wrong with you people? No disrespect but do you have any idea what the real king looks like? @rogerfederer

In what was otherwise a very timid race, the fans got a moment of excitement and laughter. Seeing the TV graphic popping up and then suddenly cutting away was a definite highlight for many fans. However, if the men and women back at base thought the fans would let them forget this, they were in for a rude shock!
